LG15 Anticipated by William Gibson

As usual, William Gibson presages reality by several years...

Those of you heartbroken by the LonelyGirl15 controversy - you mean she was FAKING!!!??? - should read or re-read Pattern Recognition (written in 2002).

In the story a series of art videos appear at irregular intervals on the Internet... Who posted them, are they real, what do they actually depict? It becomes a "mystical viral" thing.

I am not the first to note The Association with LG15 - it has been under discussion on Gibson's Blog's Message Board. (So many geeks in the world, so little semtex.)

Gibson's prescience is astounding. As per.

actually, I would say that Beckett's, Flinders' and Goodfried's powers of recognizing and coopting a cool idea are astounding. I *would* say it, if it hadn't taken them 14 years.

cynical? me?

I don't see what the fuss about lonelygirl is about. much of what's on virtual reality is fake anyway.
