Hong Kong visit...
E@L is back in his old haunts for a week or so. Just coming down Austin Rd through the heart of Tsim Tsa Shui the buzz was just amazing - activity, bustle, busy-ness, people, people, people... and is just goes on and on and on.
At a pinch E@L would make this comparison:
Hong Kong - 240volts Mains supply...
Singapore - 9volt Battery back-up.
Already had a night with several old friends which resulted in E@L characteristically dancing like an idiot on the dance floor with Evil Kym(TM) at Chasers in Knutsford Tce at 3am Thurday night/Friday morning. This has got to stop, and stop it did - a proposed Friday night meeting with Steve from HongkieTown was abandoned as E@L took a nap in his suite and overslept to the tune of 7am Saturday (this) morning. He had to "work" today at a conference, so that was something of a welcome system regeneration thingie... Already!
Talk about getting old!
Anyway might, try to see if Steve is free tonight or maybe even Shakey, but we'll see, don't have his number. I don't think the HK Expat Blogging Community is quite as advanced as it is in Singapore. (Me and MercerMachine + Mainey and TinkerTailor - see links at left)...
However the HK Expat Let's Get Pissed Community is refined and networked to a remarkable degree so let's test that out instead.
E@L is here till Sunday next so there's a few more opportunities.
Out of the Dark-Side (Kowloon side) tonight and off a new bar in Happy Valley (on HK island) called "Jockey" to test their skills at Long Island Iced Teas, then catch up some British/Aussie mates (including Evil D*nny(TM)) in Wancahi to watch ManU do whatever soccers players who make more in ten minutes than E@L does in a lifetime, do.
Then? The night is but a fetus, as Matt says..
p.s. The air is really REALLY shitty. I forgot how bad the air is here. Gross.
Time to go. Wish me well. How much cash do I need to get out of the machine? 3 grand? 4 grand?
OTHER MONKEYS SAID
Get 4 grand...just in case you get lucky!
Excellent, still have several dollars left!
