This is a joke, right?
If it isn't, something else is...
Riot police break up demonstration of four people in Singapore
SINGAPORE, (AFP) - Riot police broke up a rare demonstration by four people demanding greater transparency and accountability in Singapore's state-managed pension fund and other government-linked agencies.
A dozen anti-riot police wearing helmets and knee-high protective gear and carrying shields and batons formed a phalanx outside the offices of the Central Provident Fund (CPF) as a commanding officer approached the demonstrators...
Flabbergasted emphasis mine
E@L couldn't allow himself to SERIOUSLY live in a country that would do this? Surely not.
Uniquely fucked Singapore politics.

Here is a first hand account of the incident by a member of the Gang of Four!
Photos of the dramatic events leading up to the arrival of the Riot Squad to prevent this flagrant public nuisance escalating into chaotic riot scenes reminiscent of the carnage and bloodshed of 1963 - or was it 1965? - and thus to safeguard the property (but not CPF contributions) and lives of ALL (nearby) Singaporeans, both of them, are here.
OTHER MONKEYS SAID
I burst out laughing when I saw the hilarious photos of the stern riot police. (But in fairness, it's possible the authorities feared a suicide bomber or some similar threat.)
Yeah, right. The wife of the opposition party leader has strapped some fireworks to her bodice... I'm thinking, like, NOT!
Of course these radicals can get up to some serious mischief...
The best part was how they purposely kept their number under 5, so that they wouldn't break the law on illegal assembly.
Didn't help them much! They still got moved on!
Maybe the law will be amended to illegalize assemblies of more than 1 person?
Don't give them ideas! They'll do it!
Democracy is two lions and lamb voting on what's for lunch.
