OK, gizmo question...
E@L is sick of seeing interesting things but not having his camera with him. Should he:
a) upgrade his phone to one with a better camera or
b) upgrade his camera to one with a phone?
And what are people's suggestions for the best compromise?
Current phone (oops, Messaging Device)
He has the Nokia 6820, the one that flips open to reveal a keyboard which is great for SMSing but the camera is a fuzzy lo-res piece of shite. He can't do the usual SMS schtick, he needs a keyboard...
Not a bad one...
But he needs more consistent "capture the essence of the moment" quality from his phone/camera, such as to grab funny t-shirts messages and signs around the places he visits. Also dancing-girl quality needs to be lifted.
OTHER MONKEYS SAID
People seem to love the Samsung D500 series, 1.3 megapixel camera and excellent screen. Just read that Nokia is coming out with N90, which has a 2 megapixel camera, Carl Zeiss lens, and reviews on the web are strongly positive so far. I know a lot of people might say the new Sony Ericsson 750, and that does have a great camera, but I've heard it's a lousy phone.
These convergence devices really seem like a muddle of compromises...
I might wait to check out the N90, if its not too dear, which i am sure it will be.
