Paris - Day what the hell is it already?

Crowds at Jim (the wanker) Morrison's grave, crowds at Oscar (the wanked) Wilde's grave...

At Proust's tomb, only...

You look so serious and sad. I felt like cuddling you after seeing that picture.

Mate, just been reading thru your trials and tribs and Paris sounds fantastic...Please tell me you are there for the Rugby...:)

VPS: Sorry, I only accept cuddles, hugs and kisses from French babes from now on...

Actually I was sad for Marcel, only moi there to mourn him... He is so much greater, so much more important a cultural force than that bloody arrogant, deluded and overrated Morrison.

Actually, I was more likely worried that my camera would fall off the adjacent grave before the time-lapse triggered...

Scorpy: I am Victorian. What's this thing, rubgy(sp?)?

p.s. On my walk through this hill of tombs, I overlook G. P'r'c's symbolic flat sign in his honour in its columbariam ... forgot to instil in my mind what his tomb's No: was... do'h! I did not Avoid it with a goal such as this in mind. Such an inclusion could bring my tour of Paris to fruition. But I cannot go back now, too short a stay - I am flying to Austria tomorrow. How disappointing it all is. I should study his works and gain solid wisdom from him, don't you think?

Proust was a snobbish, effeminate, aesthete with an inflated sense of his own desirability. Just my opinion.

Sam: and a wonderful opinion it is too... ;-)

While we are the ad hominen bandwagon... Jim Morrison was a snobbish, effeminate, aesthete with an inflated sense of his own desirability. Just my opinion.

I have only read the first two volumes of ALRDTP by Proust, but I recall how powerfully they affected me. The love story of poor Swann and his bisexual Odette is as huge, multifaceted - yet coherent! - and still as moving as anything I have ever read...

So Proust was a silly old poof, so what? He was the second most brilliant writer ever (according to "Little Miss Sunshine").

Morrison, however is just a silly young heterosexual unable to handle his undeserved fame... and always will remain so. "Roadhouse Blues" is an hum-alongable 12bar blues, the staggering mediocrity of which (even in that genre) he never surpassed.
